Been a while……………………
So, here I am, back from the dead. Well not dead really, I just had a bit of a hiatus due to obligations from work but mainly due to a guy some of you would know by the name of Dan, aka “Dan the Man”.
He was here for a couple of weeks to check out Berlin and hang for a bit which was really nice, it’s always cool to speak a bit of English with someone………….so relaxing. In that time though I unfortunately let some other things slide a little, well, it wasn’t due to just hangin’ with Dan.
There was also my Mother-inlaw’s 60th birthday in Frankfurt which, although I knew at the time, kinda made me miss my Grandmothers birthday (sorry Gran!). What’s even worse is the fact that I still haven’t sent her a card or anything, such a bad Grandson. It’s not really that I’m lazy, although I’m sure that’s partially to be blamed, and it’s not that I’m unorganised, because believe me, I had my Grandmothers birthday in mind weeks before, it’s just that everytime I walked out the door to get some things from the shop I never added a birthday card to the list. Hopeless, and yet it continues………………….this weekend I’d better get a card or something, I mean, it’s almost pointless now being like two weeks late or something.
That kinda gives you an idea of why the posts have been so few of late.
So, let me fill you in on what’s been hapening lately in crazy Germany. No accidents, no run-ins with old nutters absolutely no funny stuff at all. Apart from hangin’ with Dan and going to a bunch of places that I hadn’t got around to seeing yet, it hasn’t been doing much apart from getting progressively colder (which I love!!). This morning it was so cold and foggy, really quite fitting for Friday 13th I guess. I think this weekend I’m going to take it really easy even though all the clubs are in full swing now, I’ll definitely buy a card though.
I can tell you much more about my Sydney life though, pain in the arse that it is. So, before we left Sydney we organised a real estate to manage our appartment and after much debate decided that we would go with an insurance to protect the Landlord (us) from any bad things that the tenant may do. So that was pretty lucky cause the tenants did break some things (although this of course wasn’t covered-wear and tear and all-whatever!!) and now they’ve decided that they’re not going to pay rent. In fact they haven’t paid rent for the last 4 weeks or so, but in all honesty I guess I kinda expected it. I mean, let’s take a look at the signs:
1.) a young lesbian couple move into a nice appartment in the city
2.) rent paid on time, everything good
3.) things broken in house (including two doors)
4.) rent not paid at all
So I guess you don’t need to be a psychologist to read between the lines that they had a falling out, one probably moved out and the other one either can’t afford rent or can’t be bothered paying it. Either way I don’t give a shit, I’ve got a loan to pay and need the cash. So, hopefully this insurance pays out for loss of rent which as far as I remember, it does.
On the bright side I heard from my olds today so I’m a bit more relaxed as I was kinda worried.
This has turned into a massive rant though so I think I’ll let it go now, but let me just say, it’s good to be back!!
